"Quiet Time" is a pastel still life featuring a magnolia blossom, magnolia leaves, and a ceramic tea pot. For vertical interest, I added one of my favorite props: a metal teal vase with a verdigris finish. The last addition was a purple glass jar with cork lid to give the painting a bit of punch. Altogether, I thought they appeared restful, hence the title.
