Painting a silver-colored object, in this case a simple silver-plate pitcher, is a special joy because the piece acts somewhat like a mirror, reflecting the back side of the objects nearby. In this painting, the mango in the yellow-ware bowl is reflected five times ~ once in the brown jug and four times in the silver pitcher. The "echo" of the mangoes forms a "S" shape which adds movement to the work.
