"Harbinger" ~ a depiction of a backlit yellow and white daffodil ~ is rendered in colored pencil on black Canson Mi-Teintes paper. I consider the daffodil the "harbinger" of spring in my garden. This year, only one daffodil emerged due to our drought situation. I brought this lone daffodil inside and enjoyed it for almost a week. I felt that working on the black paper would lend an interesting drama to the bloom.
