"Anthurium" features one perfect anthurium bloom from Hawaii resting on a blue ceramic plate which is sitting on a colorful Indian rug. The view is looking down on the still life placed on my card table ~ the riot of color that appears all green, red, and blue is interrupted by the light green of the leaf cutting diagonally across the picture plane. I was impressed at how long this particular anthurium blossom remained intact and fresh-looking despite the heat of my photographer's spotlight beaming down on it the entire time I painted this work.

Framed in a cream-painted wood frame under glass.
